Comments:  When I got the lumber for this project into the studio, with the smooth, burnished outer layer of the original tree still evident on the edge of each plank, I decided to incorporate those edges into the design. It created a very different look from our original conception.

Wood:  Walnut, Yellow Birch

    

The integral drop-leaf makes great use of space by providing a writing desk when needed.
